Communications and Change Management

According to the The Journal of Change Management, 70% of change projects fail. We are living in a world of increasing complexity and keeping up with change is critical to the bottom line, but it is also essential to support employees and clients through inevitable change. Proactive communications will help articulate the case for change, personalize the change experience, build empathy, community, a shared purpose, and demonstrate progress. How can leadership celebrate wins through the change project without communicating the successes? I don't think there is such a thing as over communication during a transformational change.

According to Culture IQ:

  • Employees suffering from change-related stress perform 5% worse than the average employee.

  • Companies with good change management practices are 3.5x more likely to outperform their peer organizations.

  • Companies with a change management approach have 2.5x greater financial returns.
